When I heard Catherine and Alex were celebrating at The Greystone Inn, I just knew we had to capture some moments in motion. The Greystone holds such a special place in my heart – there’s something absolutely magical about how Lake Toxaway is surrounded by mountains and the venue at sunset is gorgeous!

I’ve photographed, through Kathy Beaver Photography many beautiful moments at this lakeside venue that I couldn’t resist bringing along my cinema camera and 
Anna, our team member of Katherine Denise Films to capture some highlight footage. The Greystone has this way of making every celebration feel timelessly Southern, yet completely unique to each couple, and Catherine and Alex’s day was no exception.

Catherine brought her Charleston elegance to the mountains in the most stunning way. Her style was this perfect blend of classic Southern charm with unexpected modern touches. From the way she incorporated her hometown’s sophisticated flair to how she embraced our mountain setting – every detail was thoughtfully curated yet felt completely natural. One detail that had us all swooning over her dress was the gorgeous green bow.  

Now, while this wasn’t one of our full wedding film packages (we didn’t capture audio or speeches), these visual moments were just too beautiful not to preserve in motion. The way the light danced across Lake Toxaway during Catherine and Alex’s golden hour portraits, the joyful celebrations on the inn’s historic grounds, those sweet stolen glances between them – each moment felt like a gift to capture.

I always say that The Greystone Inn has this incredible ability to make every celebration feel intimate yet grand, historic yet fresh. Whether I’m photographing or filming here, the natural beauty of Western North Carolina combined with the inn’s timeless elegance creates pure magic through my lens.
